Google’s current Android version is called Oreo or Android 8. The release was on August 21st.¬†The predecessor Android 7 Nougat was also introduced the year before in August.¬†But the spread of Android N¬†is according to Google¬†over a year later, only a meager 23 percent.¬†How fast is it now on Android 8 Oreo?

Which smartphones are allowed to hope for the new Android 8 Oreo, is not clear at each manufacturer. We give you a first overview of which smartphones and tablets should get Android 8. The list is sorted alphabetically and is constantly being expanded (current status: January 30, 2018).

Asus

Asus gave the starting signal for the Android 8 update of the Zenfone 4 (ZE554KL) in its forum at the end of December. However, it is not mentioned whether the update will be rolled out immediately worldwide, or initially limited to individual countries.

Essential

OnePlus

The Chinese manufacturer OnePlus has been offering Android 8 Oreo in the form of Oxygen OS 5.0 for the OnePlus 3 and 3T since 19 November. Surprisingly, the update for the OnePlus 5 was released shortly before Christmas . After short-term problems at the beginning of January, the rollout continues. For the OnePlus 5T, the beta program was launched at the end of December. If OnePlus has a similar schedule as the OnePlus 5, the final update is expected to be late in January.
