Apple fires engineer after daughter’s YouTube vlog goes viral

Brooke Amelia Peterson, a Youtuber said that her father, was fired by Apple after her hands on video of unreleased iPhone X went viral. She made a hands on video of unreleased iPhone X during her visit to her father’s workplace who was an engineer in Apple. Peterson said, “My dad showed me his phone and I was filming it in the Apple cafeteria.”
Soon after she shared the video on YouTube, it went viral leading her video to appear on the trending page.
It suddenly went viral and I have no idea how my video got so much attention considering how many other iPhone X videos there are out there,”
Apple reportedly requested her to remove the video but it was too late as the video was already viral on other video sharing platforms.

The video includes an iPhone X with special employee-only QR codes. A notes app was also shown on the iPhone X in the video with some codes. Allowing anyone to film in Apple campus is strictly prohibited. Hence it was certainly a violation of company rules, for which Peterson’s father was relieved of his duties by Apple. “He takes full responsibility for letting me film his iPhone  X. At the end of the day when you work for Apple it doesn’t matter how a good a person you are. If you break a rule they just have no tolerance. The rules are in place for the happiness and for the safety of workers,” Peterson said with teary eyes.
