After the impact of JioPhone in the Indian markets with its outstanding tarrif plans, BSNL is the one which competes with Reliance Jio neck to neck. BSNL has introduced its Bharat 1 smartphone in partnership with Micromax.
State-owned telecom operator BSNL has launched its first-ever 4G VoLTE feature phone Bharat 1 in association with Micromax. The biggest highlight of this phone is the unlimited data and calling plan that BSNL is providing at just Rs. 97/month. The high-speed data is availabla upto 5GB only after which the speed will be reduced to 80 kbps.
The key advantage of Micromax Bharat 1 is that, it can be used with any other network too, unlike the JioPhone that only works with the preinstalled Jio SIM card. The phone is packed up with services such as live TV, video and music streaming to give a full competition to the Jio apps such as such as JioCinema and JioMusic.
The advanced 4G phone has a 2.4-inch display and is powered by a Snapdragon 205 processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB built-in storage(can be expanded upto 32GB via microSD cards). It is backed by a 2000mAH battery inside and even features two cameras; 2MP on the back and a VGA quality shooter in the front. For connectivity, you get Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and microUSB connector.
The phone also comes with support for 22 local languages as well. The phone will also have pre-loaded apps like BHIM UPI app and BSNL wallet. Although whatsapp cannot be download on this phone, but other websites can be accessed via the preinstalled Opera Mini browser in it.
Micromax is now available in the market. It was launced on 20th october for a price of Rs. 2200.The phone doesn’t seem much expensive considering the features it offers. The tarrif plans offered by this phone should easily satisfy the demands of the target customers.
“Connecting the last mile– to the Internet and relevant information – is an important part of the strategy for both BSNL and Micromax. We are confident that Bharat 1 will help millions of users experience the data and calling experience like never before,” said Anupam Srivastava, CMD, BSNL.
