OnePlus copies gesture control of the iPhone X.

It is an open secret that smart phone manufacturers are chipping off each other. The iPhone X now apparently once again served as inspiration for OnePlus. This indicates the current Oreo beta for the OnePlus 5T, as BGR reports.

Under Android Oreo it should be possible on the OnePlus 5T to replace the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen with a gesture control. According to BGR, this is likely to be familiar to anyone who has ever used the iPhone X before.

Better well stolen than badly invented

If you wipe up from the bottom of the screen, you will obviously get to the homescreen. If you carry out this gesture without immediately taking your finger off the screen, you will end up in an overview of the currently open apps. The Android update leads to the fact that the OnePlus 5T can be operated very similar to the iPhone X.

It would not be the first time that OnePlus copes with Apple. Shortly after the launch of Face ID , the manufacturer presented its own version of face recognition. Another example is the OnePlus 5 , which is not only very similar to the iPhone 7 Plus. Even the camera app of the device can not deny that the manufacturer has been inspired by Apple.

OnePlus is said to have told BGR that the designers initially tried not to make the OnePlus 5 look too similar to the iPhone 7 Plus . Then, however, the manufacturer decided otherwise, because you do not want to differentiate yourself at any price from the competition, just to be different. Or to put it another way: better stolen than badly invented.
